As a result of aging, wrinkles appear. They can also appear because of an unhealthy skin, and because of them, we look older than we are. Wrinkles are especially noticeable around the eye, mouth, and neck and can become deep cracks or fissures.
The dermis is the second layer of the skin that contains the structural elements of the skin, mostly the protein that gives the skin the strength and elasticity and also contains collagen and elastin.
As we are getting older, the cells divide slower, the dermis starts to thin and starts to weaken the collagen and elastic fiber network. This leads to the appearance of wrinkles on the surface of the skin.
As we can’t stop the time only we can do is to take preventive measures to slow down the process of occurrence of wrinkles and to keep our skin as smooth and healthy as possible.
