What causes migraines?
The truth is that migraines are a bit of a mystery, even to the most qualified of doctors. They could be caused by a single irregularity in the central nervous system or a combination of factors like genetic predispositions, brain chemicals abnormalities, vascular system irregularities, stress, dehydration and so on. Even the best scientists are yet to discover the real cause and they all advise the same – eliminate what triggers them in the first place. Different people have different triggers, all you need to do is find yours and try to avoid them as much as possible.
For some it’s food, highly processed food can indeed trigger a headache. Then there’s skipping meals, excess alcohol or caffeine intake, artificial sweeteners and preservatives, loud noises, extra bright light or strong smells as well. Many women say that hormonal changes or hormone medications can trigger their migraine, as they often appear before or during their period, during pregnancy or menopause. There are a number of things which can set off your headache, you need to identify yours and try and avoid it.
Himalayan Salt Lemonade
According to some scientists, nutrient deficiencies and dehydration play a major role in the onset of migraines, and to some extent we may agree with this. Perhaps this is why the Himalayan salt lemonade has proven to be so effective against this painful condition. It acts within minutes and provides immediate relief. Himalayan salt is rich in nutrients which keep your electrolytes balanced and help your body take better advantage of your water intake. Lemons help reduce inflammations and relieve your stress, one of the main factors that leads to migraines.
If you suffer from migraines as well, we recommend that you try this natural remedy. It’s completely natural and will do you no harm. All it can do is help you get rid of your splitting migraine headache and say goodbye to the pain.
How to prepare it?
You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 8 ounces of water
- lemon juice
- ¼ tbsp. Himalayan salt
- honey (optional)
Mix the lemon juice and Himalayan salt in the water until they’ve dissolved completely. Add in the honey if you want to sweeten the lemonade and drink it immediately. Have a glass of water right afterwards. Repeat the process again in 10 minutes and then again in 10 minutes. So you’ll need to consume 3 doses of the lemonade followed by water within 30 minutes. When you finish your last dose your migraine should be gone. If your migraine is quite severe and the pain doesn’t subside after 3 doses, continue drinking a few more until you feel better.
